Oxford Public School and Yashwant Vidyalaya in Vaigav (Nippani) jointly organised a special guidance programme for students on September 22, 2026. The programme aimed to create awareness among students on self-safety, dangers on the internet and in the digital world, traffic rules and the law.

Students present at the programme were given detailed information on important and sensitive subjects such as self-safety, cyber safety, traffic safety and the POCSO Act.

Assistant Police Inspector (API) Madhuri Waghade, head of the Bharosa Cell and the Damini Pathak, was the chief guide at the programme. She was accompanied by women police personnel Archana and Mamata. They explained to the students, in simple language, how to stay alert in daily life, how to protect themselves from cyber crimes and how to contact the police in any emergency. Students were also given special information on when and how to use the two important emergency helpline numbers, 1930 and 112.

The helpline 1930 is the cyber crime helpline. It was stated that in case of online cyber fraud or financial fraud, one should immediately call the national cyber helpline number 1930. It was also clarified that lodging a complaint on this number within the first few hours after the fraud, that is, the golden hour, increases the chances of getting the defrauded amount back.

Besides this, 112 is the number of the Emergency Response Support System (ERSS). It was appealed that for any emergency situation and for urgent police help, be it a law and order issue, atrocities against women and children, a threat to safety or an accident, one should contact the single number 112 immediately.

On this occasion, Madhuri Shambharkar of Childline guided those present on the subject of child rights and child protection. She explained to the students how to seek help in time without tolerating any injustice or wrongdoing of any kind.

More than 450 students and teachers from Oxford Public School and Yashwant Vidyalaya were present in large numbers at the programme. The guidance programme, jointly conducted by the two schools in Vaigav (Nippani), helped create awareness among students about self-safety, cyber safety and the law.
