Badu Kulmethe and Shashikalabai Kulmethe, well-known names in the political and social sphere in the Korpana area, publicly joined the Bharatiya Janata Party on November 1. Both said they decided to join the BJP out of faith in the leadership of the MLA of the Rajura Assembly constituency. The induction has set off considerable discussion in political circles across the Korpana area.
The political journey of Badu Kulmethe and Shashikalabai Kulmethe began with the Bahujan Samaj Party. Contesting on a BSP ticket, Shashikalabai won a gram panchayat election and served as a member. She also served as sarpanch of the Korpana gram panchayat, and tried her luck in a Zilla Parishad election as well. She therefore has considerable experience of political and social work.
Her husband, Bandu Kulmethe, has also made a large contribution throughout this journey. Bandu Kulmethe built a relationship of closeness and trust among people of his own community as well as other communities. He kept working to help the poor, the needy and victims of injustice and to get them justice. Because of this social commitment, many needy families received major support at the time.
Amol Asekar, Kishor Bawane, Sunil Bawane, Vinod Kumre, Arun Madavi, Abral Ali, Vitthal Tumram, Vijay Jeevne, Dhanraj Kohchade, Vishal Gajalwar, Umesh Paliwar and Mohabbat Khan were among the many dignitaries and party workers present at the induction programme.
The journey that began with the Bahujan Samaj Party and has now led to this public entry into the Bharatiya Janata Party is being seen as an important milestone in the political path of the couple. People in the Korpana area are watching how their path unfolds, built on a legacy of social commitment, public connect and political experience.
Speaking on the occasion, Bandu Kulmethe and Shashikalabai Kulmethe said that even if politics has changed, their resolve to serve the people will remain.
