American journalist Tucker Carlson says Israel's Benjamin Netanyahu is pressing Donald Trump to decide on using a nuclear weapon by November 7; he has offered no evidence.
A claim by well-known American journalist Tucker Carlson has caused a stir around the world. Carlson says the United States could carry out a nuclear strike on Iran on November 7. Tension in the Middle East appears to be rising once again.
Carlson alleges that Israel's caretaker Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is pressing Donald Trump to launch a nuclear attack on Iran. According to him, the US has been given the option of targeting Iran's underground uranium enrichment facility. Carlson also said Trump may have to decide on the use of a nuclear weapon by November 7.
On his social media, Carlson referred to an underground site in central Iran called Pickaxe Mountain. He says Israeli intelligence agencies claim Iran has resumed uranium enrichment in the area. The facility lies deep underground. The US and Israel have so far carried out heavy attacks on it, yet have not been able to reach it.
Carlson claims the reason is the strong granite rock that protects the facility. According to him, it is hard to reach with conventional weapons, so a nuclear weapon is the only option left. However, Carlson has not made public any evidence to back his claim. Neither the US nor Israel has confirmed any such attack.
Some circumstances are also being cited against the backdrop of Carlson's claim. Israel and the US have already carried out heavy attacks on Iran. Even so, Iran gave both a tough fight and outmanoeuvred them in Hormuz. Iran also suffered heavy losses, with its key leaders, scientists and military commanders killed. Iran destroyed a US military base located in a Gulf country. No country involved in the war gained anything; all of them suffered losses.
Even so, Netanyahu could not win power on his own in Israel's election. The question of forming a government in Israel is still unresolved. Earlier, Netanyahu had ordered Israel's military chiefs to attack Iran, but they refused to obey.
Meanwhile, voting for the midterm elections in the US is due on November 3. There is public anger over Trump's falling credibility and over the US being needlessly dragged into the war with Iran. It is being said that this could deliver a heavy blow to Trump in the US Congress. Given this political situation, Carlson says both Netanyahu and Trump now need a war to defend themselves. Analysts around the world had also been saying that another big war could take place.
There is also talk about Iran's preparations. It is being said that Iran has already given 60 per cent of its uranium to North Korea. There is also suspicion around the world that North Korea is helping Iran build a nuclear bomb. Iran's current Supreme Leader Mojtaba Khamenei has already ordered his entire military that if Iran is attacked, it must respond in kind immediately, without waiting for any order and regardless of who the adversary is.
According to the talk, if the US actually carried out a nuclear attack on Iran, Iran would not hesitate to hit back strongly. Of the world after such an attack, and of its political, social and every other structure, it has been said that it would reach an extreme that we have not even imagined.
