Try this crispy spinach oats tikki for breakfast in just 10 minutes
A protein-rich spinach and oats tikki recipe that comes together quickly and can be eaten any time of day, not just at breakfast
Bored of eating poha, upma and sheera every morning? Trying something new for breakfast is always welcome. Many people skip breakfast out of fear of gaining weight, but staying on an empty stomach does not help with weight loss and instead brings on fatigue and weakness, which can harm health. That is why it is important to eat a filling breakfast.
If you are tired of eating oats soaked in milk or curd, spinach oats tikki is a good option. It keeps the stomach full and gives the body essential nutrition. Spinach is rich in iron, while oats are packed with protein, fibre and vitamins. This protein tikki can be eaten at any time of day, not just at breakfast.
To make this tikki, you need spinach, oats, paneer, makhana, green peas, curd, green chilli, salt, oil, black pepper powder, cumin powder, chaat masala, gram flour and ginger.
First, boil the spinach, green peas and ginger in hot water. Once the vegetables have boiled and cooled, blend them into a fine paste in a mixer jar. In a large bowl, take curd and mix in finely ground oats, then set aside to soften.
Next, soak the makhana in water for five minutes, then mash them by hand and strain. Take out the prepared spinach-peas paste in a bowl and mix in grated paneer, gram flour, the soaked makhana, black pepper powder, salt to taste and cumin paste, and mix well.
Shape the mixture into small tikkis and fry them on a griddle in hot oil until crispy on both sides. This quick spinach oats tikki, made with few ingredients, is ready and can be served sprinkled with chaat masala.
