Transrail Lighting bags fresh orders worth over Rs 574 crore, year's order intake at Rs 1,609 crore

Transmission and distribution EPC firm Transrail Lighting has won new orders of over Rs 574 crore, taking its order intake this year to Rs 1,609 crore.

Transrail Lighting Limited, a leading EPC company in the transmission and distribution (T&D) sector, has received new orders worth more than Rs 574 crore, most of them in the company's core domestic transmission and distribution business.

A large share of the orders is for reconductoring of transmission lines. The work will be carried out with advanced carbon core HTLS conductor made at the company's plant in Silvassa.

The orders include EPC work on transmission lines, as well as transmission line reconductoring projects with supply of HTLS conductor from the company's factories. Supply of poles and similar items is also part of these orders. They include an EPC contract for transmission line construction from one of India's very large private sector developers.

According to the company, the new orders show its capability in HTLS conductor production and stringing. They also reaffirm the importance of the recent 70 per cent increase in conductor production capacity.

With these new orders, total order intake for the current year has reached Rs 1,609 crore. The company is also the L1, or lowest bidder, in further orders worth Rs 694 crore.

The company is drawing on its strong bidding pipeline in domestic and international markets. A strong order book, a capable bidding pipeline and expanded production capacity reinforce the company's long-term growth outlook.

To meet the needs of its growing order book, the company has already doubled its tower production capacity to 1,72,400 MTPA. Conductor production capacity has been raised by 70 per cent to 40,800 KMPA.

Randeep Narang, MD and CEO of the company, said: "These recent orders reflect the continued trust of our key customers in our engineering, manufacturing and project execution capabilities in the T&D sector. I am very pleased with the HTLS reconductoring work we have received, because it also reflects our manufacturing excellence and the strength of our advanced product range. With a strong order book and a capable bidding pipeline, along with increased production capacity in towers and conductors, we clearly see significant opportunities for sustainable growth for Transrail."
