President Droupadi Murmu and Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis will attend the event, which is linked to the Simhastha Kumbh Mela 2027. Heavy crowds of VIPs, ordinary citizens and devotees are expected in the town.
To prevent traffic jams and maintain security, the administration has made major changes to routes. The restrictions will remain in force from 8 am on October 30 to 8 pm on October 31.
Additional District Magistrate Rohitkumar Rajput has issued the traffic notification under Section 115 of the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. Separate routes have been fixed for vehicles coming from the directions of Nashik, Mumbai, Jawhar and Mokhada. Motorists planning to travel to Trimbakeshwar should check these routes before setting out.
Vehicles from Nashik to Trimbakeshwar usually go via Pimpalgaon Bahula, Sandip Foundation, Khambale and Peglwadi Phata. Traffic on this route has been changed. The new route is: Amrutchowk (Bardan Phata) - Govardhan - Girnare - Dhondegaon - Devargaon - Waghera Phata - Amboli Phata - Sapgaon - Trimbakeshwar.
A different route has also been fixed for vehicles travelling from the Jawhar, Mokhada and Amboli areas to Nashik via Trimbakeshwar: Amboli T-point - Waghere Phata - Kone - Sapte - Devargaon - Girnare - Govardhan - Nashik. This is expected to ease crowding on the main road.
Vehicles coming to Trimbakeshwar from Mumbai via Vaitarna Phata and Pahine have also been diverted. Their route is: Vaitarna Phata - Nashik - Amrut Garden - Bardan Phata - Govardhan - Girnare - Dhondegaon - Trimbakeshwar. Devotees and tourists coming from Mumbai should note the changes, and keeping extra time in hand for the journey will help.
The route for vehicles going from Pahine to Nashik is: Pahine - Ahurli - Sanjegaon - Wadivarhe - Nashik. Vehicles going from Pahine to Trimbakeshwar should take the route Pahine - Bhilmal - Nirgudpada - Jambhulpada - Sapgaon - Trimbakeshwar.
The Public Works Department and the National Highways Authority of India (NHAI) have been directed to put up direction boards and traffic signs on these alternative routes. They have also been told to carry out necessary road repairs so that no accidents or law-and-order problems arise.
Those who violate the notification may face legal action under the applicable provisions of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, and the Motor Vehicles Act, 1988. The administration has also reserved the right to modify the restrictions according to the situation.
Before travelling to Trimbakeshwar, people should check the alternative routes and follow the instructions of the traffic police. This will help avoid needless jams and make the journey safer and easier.
