Toyota has given a glimpse of the new model of its popular hatchback. The Toyota Glanza facelift is due in the Indian market on October 14, and the company has released a teaser for it. The new Glanza is likely to get an attractive design, an updated engine and modern features. The company claims the current CNG model delivers up to 30 km per kg, so car enthusiasts are watching what will change in the new model.

Toyota launched the new Fortuner Leader in the Indian market this week. The company is now preparing to present another car next week, the Toyota Glanza facelift. The teaser focuses on the front of the car, showing a grille of a new design with the Toyota logo on it. These changes are likely to give the car a new look from the outside.

Maruti Suzuki launched the Baleno facelift last month, which made it clear that a new Glanza was on the way. The Toyota Glanza is a rebadged version of the Maruti Suzuki Baleno, so many of the changes made in the Baleno facelift may also be seen in the new Glanza. The Baleno has received a new engine along with updates to its exterior and interior. The same kind of changes are now expected in this Toyota car.

A major change in the overall cabin layout of the new Glanza facelift is unlikely. However, some modern features given in the Baleno facelift may come to the Glanza. The likely features include ventilation for the front seats, a cooled wireless charging pad and a 9-inch touchscreen. The touchscreen may support wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, which is expected to make smartphone connectivity easier. The audio system may also be updated. Toyota has not officially confirmed these features so far, so it will become clear only at the launch which of them are offered.

A big change in safety is also being speculated. The company may offer a Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) in this car, which could add driving assistance and safety features. The likely safety features include automatic emergency braking, lane keep assist, adaptive cruise control and automatic high-speed assist. Toyota has not officially announced any of these, so it cannot be said for certain that the new Glanza will get Level 2 ADAS or all of these features.

An important change in the engine is also likely. The Glanza currently comes with a 1.2-litre, 4-cylinder petrol engine. In the facelift model, the company may offer a 1.2-litre, 3-cylinder engine. The same engine has been used in the new Maruti Suzuki Baleno facelift. This engine produces 83 HP of power and 112 Nm of torque. If the new Glanza gets this engine, a difference may be seen in the car's performance and engine character. Toyota has not yet released official information about the engine.

On mileage, the Glanza is considered an important option for buyers. For the current CNG model, the company claims a mileage of 30 km per kg. The car could therefore be an attractive option for those who travel daily at low fuel cost. The new Glanza is expected to offer both manual and automatic gearbox options. The new Baleno offers an AMT, or automated manual transmission, option with CNG. There is curiosity over whether this option will also be available in the Toyota Glanza facelift. Toyota has not yet officially confirmed a CNG-AMT option. The final mileage figure for the new model will also be known only after the launch.

In the Indian market, the Toyota Glanza facelift will compete directly with hatchbacks such as the Hyundai i20 and Tata Altroz. With its new design, likely modern features, engine change and CNG option, the Glanza will try to attract buyers. The car will be launched on October 14, and its price, variant-wise features, final engine details and CNG-AMT option will become clear then. For now, the changes seen in the teaser and the likely features have raised interest in the new car.
