This Thailand temple is famous not for prayer but for photoshoots
Wat Arun in Thailand draws visitors dressed in traditional attire for photos rather than worship
Most people picture devotion, prayer and history when they hear the word temple. But there is a temple in Thailand that is famous not for these reasons but for photoshoots. Photography and videography are usually banned inside temples, but here people go specifically to take photos and videos.
This temple is called Wat Arun. Visitors here dress in traditional clothes to take photos and videos. In the age of social media, the trend of getting photoshoots done in traditional attire at beautiful locations has grown a lot, and this is why this spot in Thailand has become popular. Anyone planning a trip to Thailand should not miss visiting this place.
A content creator who made a video about the temple said the experience here is completely different from other temples. The video showed that people do not come here to worship but to dress up in traditional Thai clothing and jewellery just to get photos taken. The creator said in the video, "Brother, what a place this is! A temple where people do not pray, they put on a fashion show." The creator also wore traditional Thai dress and jewellery and posed to experience this unusual temple.
According to the video, clothes and jewellery for the photoshoot are available for rent just outside the temple. After renting these items, people can put together their full look and complete their photoshoot in the temple's beautiful premises. No separate charge is taken for the photoshoot inside the temple, meaning once the rental for clothes and jewellery is paid, the photoshoot itself is free.
However, in the comments section of the video, a user shared their own experience and said the photoshoot here is not completely free. The user told the creator not to mislead people. According to the user's claim, 600 baht is charged for 30 minutes and 1000 baht for an hour. To convert this to rupees, the amount must be multiplied by 3. Besides this, women are charged 250 baht and men 200 baht for the clothes.
