Gondia, October 17: A delegation of the Maharashtra State Primary Teachers' Association, Gondia branch, met Block Education Officer M. L. Meshram at the Panchayat Samiti, Gondia. The meeting discussed in detail teachers' various problems, stalled administrative work and the difficulties of newly appointed shikshan sevaks. Assurances of positive decisions and action were given on several key issues.

Present were the Panchayat Samiti staff, Nutan Bangre, state organiser of the All India Teachers' Association, divisional president Kedarnath Gotephode, and state representatives Aniruddha Meshram and Ayub Khan. District executive, women's executive, taluka and centre-level office-bearers and workers also turned up in large numbers. Association president Moreshwar Badwaik was among those present.

A special camp to prepare service books of shikshan sevaks appointed in 2026 through the Pavitra portal was discussed. Service books of those whose medical certificates are ready are planned to be prepared on October 19, 2026 at the Panchayat Samiti auditorium, Gondia. The remaining shikshan sevaks' service books will be prepared on October 22, 2026.

The posts of some new teachers have been sanctioned at the district level, but their Shalarth IDs have not yet been generated. This was discussed, and it was said that after completing the district-level process, action to generate Shalarth IDs for all new teachers would be taken soon.

The problems caused by "Kumari" and "Sau" being written before women teachers' names in their service books were also discussed, as were proposals to change names in line with the gazette. It was assured that such proposals reaching the Panchayat Samiti, Gondia will be examined and sent to the Zilla Parishad, Gondia at once for approval.

Stalled grants under the school nutrition scheme and the honorarium of cooks and helpers were also discussed. It was hoped that the April honorarium for cooks and helpers would be credited to their accounts by evening the same day. The remaining grant will be deposited in the accounts of the headmasters concerned as soon as it arrives.

On the day of the monthly shikshan parishad, school runs from 7 am to 11 am and the parishad is held from 12 noon to 5 pm, so teachers' whole day goes in work. The association demanded relaxation in school hours on that day. As the matter is at the district level, the block education officer assured that he would follow it up with higher authorities.

Checking and updating the recorded details, necessary signatures and salary-related entries in all teachers' service books was also discussed. A plan was discussed to fix a day after Diwali, call teachers centre-wise to the Panchayat Samiti, Gondia, and update service books under the supervision of clerks.

Stalled proposals on teachers' higher examinations, prior permission, post-facto permission, Hindi-Marathi exemption and computer exemption were also discussed. Applications for examination permission received at the Panchayat Samiti will be taken up for approval within the next eight days. Teachers who have not yet applied were urged to submit applications to the Panchayat Samiti, Gondia as soon as possible.

Some proposals for the Chattopadhyay senior pay scale had shortcomings and were returned by the Zilla Parishad. The shortcomings will be removed and the proposals sent to the Zilla Parishad, Gondia immediately. Teachers who have completed 12 years of service should submit a fresh proposal with the necessary documents to the Panchayat Samiti so that it can be sent to the district level for approval.

The uniform grant, nutrition scheme money and other school funds coming into headmasters' bank accounts were also discussed. It was said that both the 60 per cent and 40 per cent instalments of the uniform grant have arrived. Necessary action will be taken to deposit it in headmasters' accounts. The remaining school grants will also be credited to the accounts concerned once received from the government.

Stalled cases of medical leave, maternity leave and other leave were also discussed. Officials said the necessary action was being taken to settle them. To ensure that medical reimbursement proposals do not get stuck at the Panchayat Samiti level, it was also discussed that they would be examined and sent to the Zilla Parishad, Gondia with the necessary signatures.

The association stressed that the staff concerned should give teachers proper guidance in all these matters, that there should be no needless delay in stalled work and that teachers' problems should be resolved on time.

On the occasion, the association's Gondia branch distributed service books to the new shikshan sevaks appointed in 2026 through the Pavitra portal. The service book is an important document of each employee's service record, so the initiative was taken to make it available to new teachers.

It was said at the meeting that teachers' service, money, administration and personal problems were put before officials through the delegation. Officials assured necessary action. Dates and timelines were fixed for some tasks, while follow-up was agreed for district-level matters. The association expressed confidence that it would keep working for teachers' legitimate demands, administrative guidance for new shikshan sevaks and the settlement of stalled work.
