India's electric car market could see major activity by the end of 2026. Tata Motors, Honda and Hyundai are each preparing to unveil a new electric SUV built in India. They are a three-row Tata Safari EV for large families, Honda's first India-made electric SUV and a new compact electric SUV from Hyundai. The models would give buyers more options.

Tata Motors may unveil the Safari EV in November 2026. It could be the company's flagship electric SUV. Six- and seven-seat options are likely, keeping large families and long journeys in mind. According to spy photographs, the cabin could have three displays. The passenger screen may allow users to watch videos, play games, and control music and navigation.

Independent rear suspension is expected to improve ride comfort. The vehicle may come in standard-range rear-wheel drive, extended-range rear-wheel drive and all-wheel drive variants. The middle variant could have a range of about 600 km on a single charge, but the company has not confirmed this.

Honda may unveil its electric SUV, based on the 0 Alpha concept, on December 2, 2026. It is likely to be launched in January 2027. Its possible features include an aerodynamic design, a flat-bottom steering wheel, a digital instrument cluster and a tablet-like infotainment screen. It may get a 65 to 75 kWh LFP battery pack and a front-wheel drive set-up. The top variant is estimated to have a range of about 650 km.

The third vehicle is from Hyundai. The company may unveil in December an electric compact SUV with the codename 'HE1i'. Its boxy look, strong SUV stance and the pixel-style lights that have become the company's signature could be its main attractions. The cabin is likely to get a 9.9-inch digital instrument cluster and a 12.9-inch touchscreen. The company has confirmed Level 2 ADAS. Two battery options may be offered, and a range of about 500 km is expected with the larger battery.

The final prices, full features and range details of all three SUVs will be clear only after the companies make their announcements.
