Several new electric cars (EVs) across segments are set to arrive in the Indian market in the next few months. From buyers of ordinary and family cars to luxury car enthusiasts, the new models offer options for everyone. They include a seven-seat family SUV as well as premium luxury electric vehicles.

First is the Mercedes-Benz GLC Electric. The company will formally launch it in the Indian market on November 4, 2026. The luxury SUV will be assembled locally at the company's plant at Chakan in Pune. Worldwide, the car comes with the GLC 400 4Matic setup.

It has a 94 kWh battery pack and a dual-motor all-wheel-drive system. According to figures for the international model, the car produces 490 hp of power and 800 Nm of torque. It is expected to offer a driving range of 715 km on a single charge as per WLTP. The ex-showroom price of this e-SUV is estimated to be between Rs 80 lakh and Rs 90 lakh.

Second is Hyundai's HE1i compact EV. Hyundai is currently working rapidly on a new compact electric SUV under the secret codename HE1i, and it could reach the Indian market soon. Built with the Indian market in particular in mind, this EV will be based on the E-GMP (K) platform.

Official details have not yet emerged. Even so, it is believed to be available in both standard range and long range versions. The car will be built at the company's plant in Sriperumbudur, Tamil Nadu. Like the Hyundai Inster sold in international markets, it is very likely to get 42 kWh and 49 kWh battery packs. The new compact EV could be priced between Rs 10 lakh and Rs 15 lakh.

The third vehicle is the much-awaited Tata Safari EV from Tata Motors. It is likely to arrive in the Indian market in this year's festive season in 2026. It will be the electric version of the well-known three-row Safari. Its original design will remain the same, with some EV-specific changes. Like the Harrier EV, it will be built on the Acti.ev+ platform.

According to industry reports, the Tata Safari EV is likely to get two battery options, 65 kWh and 75 kWh. It may come in both rear-wheel-drive and all-wheel-drive configurations. Compared with the Harrier EV's claimed maximum range of 627 km, the Safari EV's range is expected to be slightly lower. The Tata EV may start at around Rs 25 lakh, with higher prices for the top variants.

The fourth is the Honda 0 Alpha EV, the first all-new electric SUV from Japanese automaker Honda. It is based on the 0 Alpha concept shown last year. The car will arrive in the market on December 2, 2026. The company has not yet officially disclosed technical details or the design, but it will be built keeping the concept's basic design, with some changes.

Honda's upcoming SUV will be built locally at the company's plant at Tapukara in Rajasthan. Its battery capacity, driving range, power output and price are not yet clear, but Honda could launch it at between Rs 17 lakh and Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom).
