Maddy and Reena are among Bollywood's most popular on-screen pairs. There is talk that the pair from Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein may be seen on the big screen again, and new information has now emerged about a sequel to the film.
The film was released in 2001, and audiences embraced the popular romantic drama. A distinct set of fans, devoted to its songs, remains even today. Jackky Bhagnani is now preparing to bring the film back before audiences.
According to sources, discussions are on between the producers and Kakkar about his possible involvement. The filmmaker is known for directing films such as Filmistaan, Mitron and Jawaani Jaaneman. He is also linked to the upcoming Awarapan 2. However, the nature of his alleged talks with Bhagnani is unclear. No official announcement confirming his appointment has been made.
It is still not clear whether the new film will be a sequel to the original or will have an entirely different story. For now, there is only talk about the project, and the producers have not made any official announcement. Audiences will therefore have to wait longer.
Directed by Gautham Vasudev Menon, Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein introduced R Madhavan and Dia Mirza to Hindi cinema. Saif Ali Khan played an important role in it. The story revolved around the complicated romantic relationships between Madhav Shastri, known as Maddy, Reena Malhotra, and Rajiv Samra, known as Sam.
The film did not become a big success immediately after release. Over time, however, it gradually built a loyal fan following. Its emotional conflict, dialogue and the music composed by Harris Jayaraj kept it popular with audiences, which is why curiosity about the film remains even today.
