The farmer's wife, Jyoti Chandrakant Shinde (37), has filed a complaint with the police. Further investigation is now with Rameshwar Vaijne, Sub-Divisional Police Officer (Nanded city). Additional Superintendent of Police Suraj Gurav will review the SIT's work from time to time and provide guidance. The SIT comprises 3 police officers and 6 police personnel.

The Superintendent of Police has appealed to farmers and ordinary citizens that, if faced with any unlawful harassment, threats or pressure related to loan recovery or from a finance company, they should not panic and take any extreme step.
