For those thinking of buying an electric scooter for the office or college commute, the Simple Wave could be an option. The scooter offers an IDC range of up to 243 km, a powerful motor and modern features. It also has large storage, different riding modes and smartphone connectivity.

The Simple Wave is fitted with a Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) that produces a peak power of 6.4 kW. It has a chain drive system. According to details provided by the company, the scooter can go from 0 to 40 km/h in just 3.3 seconds. This performance could be useful for daily city travel.

It has a telescopic fork at the front and dual shock absorbers at the rear, which help provide comfort over potholes and uneven stretches of road.

The scooter's most important feature is its range. It is available in six variants, and the IDC range varies from 110 km to 243 km depending on the variant. Buyers can pick the right variant based on their daily travel distance.

Depending on the charger setup and variant, the battery takes about 1 hour 10 minutes to 2 hours 15 minutes to charge from 0 to 80 per cent. The battery and motor carry an IP67 rating. The scooter has a standard warranty of 3 years or 30,000 km, which can be extended to 5 years or 50,000 km.

For safety, the scooter has a combi braking system (CBS), with a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear. Both wheels have 90/90-12 tubeless tyres and 12-inch alloy wheels.

The seat height is 775 mm and the seat length is 920 mm. With under-seat storage, a front glove box and a pillion cube, the total storage capacity is 70 litres. This could make it easier to carry a helmet and other essentials in daily use.

Depending on the variant, it gets a TFT or LCD console. Features include a digital speedometer, odometer, clock, Bluetooth, smartphone connectivity, navigation, call and SMS alerts and music control.

The scooter has four riding modes: EcoX, Eco, Ride and Sport. Speed and performance may differ in each mode. It also has hill hold, traction control in higher variants, reverse assist, a USB charging port and a boot light.
