Bengaluru-based Simple Energy has quietly withdrawn its Simple OneS electric scooter from the Indian market. The company has stopped selling the model, leaving a large gap in its electric scooter range. The OneS had an introductory ex-showroom price of Rs 1,77,999 in Bengaluru.

The scooter came with a 3.7 kWh battery pack. According to the company's claim, it offered a range of up to 190 km on the IDC cycle. It had a mid-mounted electric motor producing 6.4 kW of power and 52 Nm of peak torque. The claimed top speed was 90 kmph. It had four riding modes: Eco X, Eco, Ride and Air.

The OneS was not short on features. It had a 7-inch TFT console, Bluetooth connectivity, turn-by-turn navigation, call and SMS alerts, hill hold assist, reverse mode, Find My Scooter and OTA software updates. It also offered 35 litres of underseat storage and a USB charging port.

On riding hardware, it had a telescopic fork at the front and a monoshock at the rear. It ran on 12-inch wheels with disc brakes on both ends and a CBS braking system. This made it a good option for daily city use as well as longer rides.

With the OneS gone, a clear gap is visible in Simple's range between the entry-level scooter and the sport scooter. The Simple Wave is currently priced from Rs 1,09,999 to Rs 1,74,999 and is aimed at family customers. The Simple One, on the other hand, is priced at Rs 2,04,999, a difference of about Rs 30,000 between the two models.

Given its features and range, the OneS could compete directly with sporty electric scooters such as the Ather 450 series. With the model discontinued, Simple Energy may need a new model to strengthen its position in this segment.
