SBI invites applications for contract AI and data specialist posts, last date November 19

State Bank of India (SBI), one of the country's largest public sector banks, has opened recruitment for experienced professionals in artificial intelligence (AI) and data technology. The drive is not for general banking posts. The bank wants people who have worked in areas such as AI, data analytics, data engineering and technology management.

SBI has invited applications for Specialist Cadre Officer (SCO) posts on a contract basis. The appointments will be on fixed-term contracts rather than regular permanent recruitment. Eligible candidates can apply online until November 19, 2026, on the bank's official website, sbi.bank.in.

The recruitment covers areas including artificial intelligence, data analytics, data engineering, AI governance, technology infrastructure and AI operations. The bank has sought applications for posts such as General Manager and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer, Deputy General Manager, AI Solution Architect and Enterprise AI Architect.

The General Manager and Chief Artificial Intelligence Officer is among the most senior posts. Candidates must be at least 40 and at most 55 years old. A BE, B.Tech or M.Tech degree in computer science, information technology, electronics, electrical and electronics, or electronics and communication is required. Under the stipulated conditions, candidates with an MSc in statistics or computer science, an MA in statistics, an M.Stat or an MCA can also apply. They must also meet the required professional experience and other conditions for the post.

The Deputy General Manager (DGM) category has three separate specialised posts. The first is Deputy General Manager, Risk and Operational Analytics, which covers data analysis related to risk and operations. The second is Deputy General Manager, AI Governance and Compliance, which relates to rules for the use of AI, monitoring and compliance. The third is Deputy General Manager, Data Engineering, Model Application Development and AI Operations, which relates to data engineering, application development for AI models and the operation of AI systems. For all three posts, candidates must be at least 35 and at most 50 years old.

To apply, candidates must first visit sbi.bank.in and find the Specialist Cadre Officer Recruitment 2026 notification in the careers or recruitment section. They must open the advertisement and read carefully the educational qualification, age, professional experience and application instructions for each post.

Eligible candidates can begin the process by registering online. The application form requires personal details, educational qualifications and employment details. Required documents must then be uploaded in the prescribed format. Candidates should check all the information carefully before submitting the form, to avoid errors.
