Samar Khaltkar is entering Marathi films. Having begun his career in modelling, he will make his big-screen debut in the Marathi film "Maitreya", directed by Kranti Redkar Wankhede. The film will release in cinemas on November 20.

Samar first modelled for fashion and lifestyle brands before turning to acting. His work in the fifth season of the popular youth web series "Campus Beats" brought him recognition in the Hindi entertainment world. He now comes to Marathi cinema with that experience.

His journey has had several milestones. Modelling gave him confidence before the camera, "Campus Beats" gave him acting experience, and the desire to build a distinct identity brought him here. After stories of young people in Hindi, he will now face audiences through a Marathi film.

In "Maitreya", Samar's role is tied to friendship, love and the emotions of young people. His easy presence and appealing screen presence will lend the character a new colour. Besides acting, Samar is also an excellent dancer, and his passion for dance and mastery of it have given his personality a distinct sparkle. This is why there is curiosity about his Marathi debut.

Samar said, "Getting a film like 'Maitreya' to establish my identity as an artist is a matter of great happiness and importance for me. Through this film I could feel many facets of acting and see my character from a new perspective. I learnt a great deal working with Kranti ma'am. I hope audiences like my work in 'Maitreya' and that I earn a special place in their hearts. I want to move ahead with the love and blessings of the audience."

Writer and director Kranti Redkar Wankhede has built "Maitreya" around friendship, love and the relationships that grow in young people's lives. Ayushi, Sky and Ruchi will also appear in important roles alongside Samar.

The film is a Samar Times Production. Kranti Redkar Wankhede has written and directed it. Manoj Khaltkar is the producer and Aman Khaltkar the co-producer.
