The song traces a journey from carefree moments with friends to the delicate feelings of love. The open spirit of friendship, the joy of togetherness and the closeness that grows out of relationships are woven into it. The fun with friends, the teasing of one another and the feeling of standing by each other on every occasion come through effectively. The love that quietly blossoms within a friendship and the memories built from time spent together also lend the song a distinct flavour.
The lyrics are by Omkar Mangesh Datt and the music is by Pankaj Padghan. Blending words, music and voice well, the song brings together the energy of the world of friendship and the delicate emotions of love.
Music director Pankaj Padghan said of the making of the song, "There is a special energy and ease in friendship. The fun, the merriment, the teasing and the closeness that comes from all this are part of everyone's life. Through the title song of 'Maitreya', an attempt has been made to express this spirit of friendship and the joy of youth through music. While composing to suit the lyrics and their emotions, the emphasis was on retaining its playfulness and emotional warmth. I hope that listening to this song, audiences will be able to relive memories with their friends."
