Funds of Rs 20 crore have been sanctioned for widening, asphalting and repairing four roads in the Karjat-Jamkhed area, following efforts by Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde.
A total of Rs 20 crore has been sanctioned for roads in the Karjat-Jamkhed area. The money will be used to widen roads, asphalt them, repair them and make them pothole-free, along with other necessary improvements. Maharashtra Legislative Council Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde had been making continuous efforts to strengthen roads and transport facilities in the area. These efforts have now yielded a major success.
The funds will change the face of several important routes in the area. Travel for people will be safer, faster and more comfortable. In particular, the development of roads linking villages to markets, educational institutions, health facilities and larger cities will get a considerable boost.
Prof. Shinde had pursued the matter continuously, taking into account the present condition of the roads in Karjat-Jamkhed, the difficulties faced by people and the growing traffic, and the improvements needed. The funds for the road works have been sanctioned after positive attention to these efforts.
The Rs 20 crore will be spent on four roads.
The first is the Jamkhed-Kharda-Bhum road, for which Rs 10 crore has been set aside. The road will be widened and asphalted. This will bring considerable relief to traffic in the area.
The second is the Ghogargaon-Kombhali-Walwad-Karjat road, for which Rs 1.20 crore has been sanctioned. The road will be repaired, potholes filled and necessary improvements made. This will give relief to those who travel on it.
The third is the Rahata-Lohare-Mandava-Parner-Belwandi-Shrigonda-Hirdgaon-Kuldharan-Karjat-Karmala road, for which Rs 6.80 crore has been set aside. Improving this route will make connectivity and movement between various villages easier.
The fourth is the Amrapur-Pathardi-Manikdaundi-Kada-Mirajgaon-Karjat-Rashin-Baramati road. Rs 2 crore has been received for improvements on the stretch from Diksal to Chincholi Phata. This will help ease traffic problems in the area.
Roads are not merely a means of linking one village to another. They are also a major instrument of a region's economic, social and educational progress. A good road means farmers can take their produce to market easily, students can travel with ease, patients get treatment on time, and traders and entrepreneurs find new business opportunities.
With this thinking, Chairman Prof. Ram Shinde has made continuous efforts for the area's infrastructure. His active effort in obtaining funds for development works through the government and resolving the area's pending issues has once again come to the fore.
The Rs 20 crore will give new direction and momentum to road development in Karjat-Jamkhed. If the works are completed on time and with good quality, transport in the area will be further strengthened and new opportunities for development will open up.
