The exchange of charges and counter-charges in Maharashtra politics shows no sign of stopping. Maharashtra BJP president Ravindra Chavan has now targeted the Congress and Rahul Gandhi. Chavan shared a video of a speech by Union Home Minister Amit Shah on social media and commented on Congress politics alongside it.

In his post, Chavan wrote that "changing colours as convenient is Congress politics", meaning that, in his view, changing colours to suit its convenience is what Congress politics amounts to. He made the remark about both the Congress and Rahul Gandhi.

In the post, Chavan questioned the political role of the Congress. He pointed out that in states where the Congress has not had a chief minister for several years, power has rested with the party's allies.

Chavan also said that Rahul Gandhi and Congress leaders, who level the charge of "vote chori", say nothing on this political situation. In this context, he took aim at the Congress by using the Marathi proverb "the thief scolds the policeman". The post has once again sharpened the exchange of charges between the BJP and the Congress in Maharashtra.

The video Chavan shared is reported to be from a meeting of the BJP legislature party in West Bengal. At the meeting, Union Home Minister Amit Shah had criticised the Congress's political performance.

Shah said the Congress needs to introspect after its defeats. He also claimed that the Congress led by Rahul Gandhi is facing repeated defeats at the hands of the country's voters. Shah further expressed the view that the "INDIA bloc" is breaking apart.

Chavan thus criticised the Congress on the basis of Shah's speech. In particular, he questioned Rahul Gandhi's leadership and the "vote chori" allegations being made by the Opposition.

The claims made in the post are allegations by political leaders. Political circles are now watching for the Congress's response on these issues.
