All eyes in Maharashtra are on Uddhav Thackeray's Dussehra rally at Shivaji Park, also known as Shivteerth, in Mumbai. The Thackeray faction is making vigorous preparations, and Shiv Sainiks are arriving in Mumbai from different parts of the state. Amid curiosity over what Uddhav Thackeray will say this time and whether he will make any announcement, talk has now also begun about the possible presence of Raj Thackeray.
Shiv Sena Thackeray faction leader Vasant More has said that MNS chief Raj Thackeray may suddenly turn up at Uddhav Thackeray's Dussehra rally. The claim has become a talking point in political circles after his statement.
Speaking to a Marathi news channel, More commented on the possibility of Raj Thackeray's arrival. "Raj Thackeray may make a surprise entry at Shivteerth. There is such a possibility. If Raj Thackeray comes, the gold of ideas will be looted," More said.
In the same conversation, Vasant More also commented on Eknath Shinde's Dussehra rally at the NESCO Centre. He said the real rally is the one held at Shivteerth, and in doing so took aim at the NESCO Centre event.
However, neither the MNS nor the Shiv Sena Thackeray faction has officially announced that Raj Thackeray will attend Uddhav Thackeray's rally. For now, it is therefore only a possibility. No conclusion can be drawn about Raj Thackeray's presence without official confirmation.
Meanwhile, there is also varied speculation in political circles about Uddhav Thackeray's speech. MP Sanjay Raut has said Uddhav Thackeray may announce a "regime change", which has added to the curiosity.
The Thackeray faction has said this year's Dussehra rally is to protect the Constitution. All eyes are therefore on whether Uddhav Thackeray will target the ruling side in his speech and which issues he will use to corner the government.
The biggest question in all this talk is whether Raj Thackeray and Uddhav Thackeray will once again be seen on the same stage. If the possibility raised by Vasant More proves true, the rally could present a different political picture.
It will now be important to see what message Uddhav Thackeray gives at the Shivteerth rally, what response the talk of regime change receives, and whether Raj Thackeray actually turns up.
