Eight auspicious yogas are said to coincide over the two days, a combination that astrology holds comes once in about 128 years.

Shoppers and investors have a special opportunity before Diwali this year. According to astrology, the auspicious Pushya Nakshatra will last two days in a row, on November 1 and 2. It is said that eight auspicious yogas are coming together over these two days, a rare combination that occurs about once in 128 years.

Religious belief holds that buying gold and silver, starting a new business and investing in property during this period is highly beneficial. For this reason, people will get one more chance at auspicious buying, like Dhanteras, before Diwali.

Astrology counts 27 nakshatras, and Pushya is considered the most auspicious among them. It is also called the king of the nakshatras. It is believed that purchases made in this nakshatra bring lasting happiness and prosperity. Buying gold, silver, a house, land or a vehicle, and starting a new business, are therefore considered auspicious in Pushya Nakshatra.

This time Ravi Pushya Yoga is forming on Sunday, and Pushya Nakshatra will continue on Monday. Several other auspicious yogas are also forming alongside.

On the first day, Pushya Nakshatra began at 10:16 am on Sunday, November 1, and will last until 8:50 am the next day, November 2. Because the nakshatra begins on a Sunday, Ravi Pushya Yoga will form. According to astrology, this yoga is considered highly auspicious for buying, investing and starting a new business.

Along with Ravi Pushya Yoga, the Shankh, Lakshmi, Shasha, Harsh, Saral, Sadhi, Mitra and Gajakesari yogas will also form the same day. The conjunction of Mars and the Moon will further add to the astrological importance of the day. During these auspicious conjunctions, buying gold and silver jewellery, vehicles, land and houses is considered auspicious. The day may also be special for those thinking of starting a new business or venture.

On the second day, Monday, November 2, Pushya Nakshatra will also last until 8:50 am. Several auspicious yogas are again coming together that day. Yogas such as Sarvarthasiddhi, Shubh, Shrivatsa, Amal, Vashi and Saral will form with Pushya Nakshatra. Amritasiddhi and Sarvarthasiddhi yogas will also make the day special.

According to astrology, an auspicious undertaking begun under these yogas is more likely to succeed. The day is therefore seen as a good opportunity to buy gold and silver, make new investments and take key business decisions. It may also be an especially good time for traders to open new account books and plan the expansion of their work.

The tradition of buying gold in Pushya Nakshatra is very old, but the significance of this nakshatra is not limited to jewellery. According to astrology, many other purchases are also considered auspicious over these two days.

Gold and silver: It is believed that buying gold and silver jewellery in this nakshatra brings happiness and prosperity.

Land and houses: The two days are also considered auspicious for booking land, a building or a flat.

Vehicles: Those thinking of buying a new car or another vehicle can do so during this period.

Shops and machinery: Buying a new shop, machinery or business-related goods is considered auspicious for expanding a business.

Account books: Traders can open new account books on this auspicious occasion.

Puja items: Buying puja items made of silver, copper and crystal is also considered auspicious.
