Sameer Jain, a mutual fund distributor in Pune, has established himself in the financial services sector. He has shown that consistency, discipline and the right partnership can bring success in this field. Jain began his career in 2002. He expanded his business through a partnership with NJ Wealth, and the assets under his management (AUM) have now reached about Rs 215 crore. The partnership with NJ Wealth has been important in his journey.
Jain first worked as an insurance agent with Max Life Insurance. He then gained experience in general insurance with ICICI Lombard. In 2006 he joined NJ Wealth, after which his business found a new direction. The technology, research and efficient back-end support needed to expand mutual fund distribution became available to him through this partnership.
Today Jain serves more than 4,900 clients in insurance and investment. His clients include people from both insurance and investment. About 1,500 of them are mutual fund investors. These clients invest about Rs 2.17 crore every month through systematic investment plans (SIPs).
NJ Wealth's digital facilities have made it easier to register clients, carry out transactions and monitor portfolios. Investment performance reports, research-based information and support in choosing the right portfolio allow him to serve clients better. These digital facilities also let him stay in touch with clients 250 km away.
Jain says regular training, scheduled meetings and the help of relationship managers have made the management of the business more effective. In his view, technology is important, but speaking regularly to clients and working with discipline are the main pillars of success.
In the early days, he focused on making ten phone calls a day and holding three meetings. Today, recommendations from older clients play a big role in the growth of his business. Jain says that being able to help clients save for their children's education, buy a home and plan finances for retirement is the greatest satisfaction for him.
