A new, updated model of the KTM 200 Duke, known for its sporty looks and strong performance, has been spotted uncovered at a dealership. This has led to talk in the auto sector that the bike could be launched soon. The new model is expected to get features such as a quickshifter, traction control and ride-by-wire. Notably, the ex-showroom price is likely to remain Rs 2.09 lakh even after the update.

The new KTM 200 Duke is expected to get a bi-directional quickshifter as a standard feature. It will allow gears to be shifted both up and down without using the clutch. The feature could prove useful for riders who ride sportily.

The bike also appears to get a traction control system and a ride-by-wire throttle. A "TC" indicator on the 5-inch TFT instrument cluster is being taken as a sign of this. The electronic throttle will also bring two ride modes, Rain and Street. The switchgear on the right side has been changed and looks like that on the KTM 390 Duke. However, cruise control is unlikely.

KTM had also made several important changes to the 200 Duke in February 2026. The front disc brake was enlarged from 300 mm to 320 mm, which could help improve braking. Lighter alloy wheels, updated rear footpegs and a pillion grab rail were also provided. A USB Type-C charging port was also made standard.

In the same update, the rear tyre was reduced from a 150-section to a 140-section, while the diameter of the front WP USD fork was cut from 43 mm to 37 mm. The new model is likely to continue in Electric Orange, Dark Galvano and Silver Metallic colours.

Changes to the engine are unlikely. The new KTM 200 Duke is expected to retain the 199cc single-cylinder, liquid-cooled petrol engine. The engine produces 24.6 bhp of power and 19.5 Nm of torque, and is paired with a 6-speed gearbox.

In the Indian market, the bike will compete with the Bajaj Pulsar NS200, TVS Apache RTR 200 4V and Yamaha MT-15. The company has not yet announced an official launch, so the final features and price will have to be awaited. The price is said to be Rs 2.09 lakh, but the company has not officially disclosed the final price.
