Karmala police have registered a non-cognisable offence against Saurabh alias Rana Suryawanshi of Pune on a complaint of abuse and death threats made over the phone.

A non-cognisable offence has been registered at Karmala police station against Saurabh alias Rana Suryawanshi of Pune, on allegations of abusing and threatening to kill a person over the phone in Karmala taluka. These are allegations made in the complaint.

The complaint was given to the police by Navnath Madhukar Zol (53), a resident of Vashimbe village in Karmala taluka. According to the complaint, the accused, described as a resident of Amanora City, Hadapsar, Pune, called the complainant's mobile phone on August 12 and 13, 2026. He allegedly abused and threatened the complainant on the calls.

The complaint says the complainant's brother, Prof. Ramdas Zol, was threatened with being finished off for good. The complainant also says a warning was given that the educational institution concerned would be locked.

The complaint further states that a threat was made to create obstacles in the banana business of the complainant's son Harshvardhan. It is also alleged that the caller spoke of planting narcotics in his banana orchard to implicate him in a false case.

The complainant's other son, Darshan, is studying medicine in Bengaluru. The complaint says he too was abused and threatened with the words that he would be "dealt with". According to the allegations, the threats were thus not confined to one person but extended to several members of the family, and to their work and studies.

On the basis of the complaint, a non-cognisable offence was registered at Karmala police station on November 3, 2026 under Sections 351(2) and 352 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita. Police records show that the matter has been forwarded to the authorities concerned for further preventive action. The records make no mention of any arrest.

The alleged phone threats have become a talking point in Karmala taluka. The verification of the allegations made in the complaint, and the police action that follows, will now be important.
