Farmers had been waiting eagerly for the 24th instalment of the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi scheme. It has now been announced that it will be released on October 30. The Agriculture Ministry shared the information on October 23. Farmers are pleased after the announcement.

Eligible farmers receive Rs 2,000 in their accounts each time. They had been waiting for this instalment since June 20, 2026. The wait ends on October 30. However, not every farmer's account will necessarily receive the money, and payments to many farmers may be delayed.

The question is which farmers will not get the Rs 2,000 and why. Some beneficiaries of the scheme may be affected. Farmers should therefore check from time to time that all the details in their PM Kisan account are correct and nothing is missing. Farmers often forget to update it or do not pay attention to it, and instalments are not credited to their accounts for this reason.

If your e-KYC is incomplete, you may also lose out. To find out whether e-KYC is complete, you will have to check your current status.

To check the status, first go to the scheme's official website, pmkisan.gov.in. On the right you will see options for new farmer registration and for knowing your status. Click on the option to know your status. Then enter your registration number, fill in the captcha code and click Get OTP. An OTP will come to your registered mobile number. Enter it to proceed.

A report will then appear. If e-KYC is complete, the report will show a green tick. If it is not, a red circled tick will appear. This will make clear whether e-KYC has been done.

There are three ways for farmers to complete e-KYC under the scheme: OTP-based e-KYC, biometric e-KYC and face authentication e-KYC. You can also download the PM Kisan app and complete e-KYC yourself. Of these, OTP-based e-KYC is somewhat easier.

For OTP-based e-KYC, the farmer must have a working mobile number linked to Aadhaar. First go to the PM-Kisan portal, then click on e-KYC. Then enter your Aadhaar number and submit the OTP to complete eKYC.

Face authentication is the newest and easiest way to do eKYC. For this, download the 'PM-KISAN' mobile app and the 'Aadhaar Face RD' app from Google Play Store. Open the app and log in with the mobile number registered with PM-KISAN. Then go to the beneficiary status page. If there is no e-KYC status, click on e-KYC, enter the Aadhaar number and allow the face to be scanned. Once the face is scanned properly, e-KYC is complete.

In this way, the scheme's instalment will not be held up because of e-KYC. After completing e-KYC, check your status once again.
