A 30-year-old married woman has died in Parli in Beed district. The deceased has been named as Sheetal Bapurao Londhe. It is alleged that she was suffering mental distress because of her husband's drinking habit and constant quarrels at home, and that, unable to bear it, she took her own life. Police have registered a case against the husband and further investigation is under way.

According to the information available, Sheetal was married to Bapurao Londhe in 2020. The couple earned their living by cutting sugarcane. Their married life reportedly went well at first, but later the husband's drinking led to repeated quarrels at home. Sheetal's relatives allege that the husband quarrelled and abused her when drunk, leaving her under mental stress.

The incident took place on October 17. That day, at around 8.30 pm, the husband returned home drunk. A quarrel between the two is said to have followed. After some time it subsided and both went to sleep. Late at night, however, the sound of crying came from inside the house. This made the relatives suspicious. When they went in, they found Sheetal in a serious condition.

She was rushed to hospital, where doctors examined her and declared her dead.

After the incident, Sheetal's relatives alleged that she took her life because of her husband's alleged deceit and harassment. A case has been registered against the husband at Sambhajinagar police station in Parli on their complaint. Police are continuing the investigation, and what actually happened will become clear only after it. The death of a young married woman has cast a pall of grief over the area.
