Mahatma Gandhi College of Science, Gadchandur, held the conference on October 26 and 27, with about 300 research papers presented over eight technical sessions.

A two-day international conference was held at Mahatma Gandhi College of Science, Gadchandur, on October 26 and 27, 2026. It was organised on the theme "International Confidence on Innovative Research in Science and Technology" to encourage research in science and technology. Researchers, professors, students and students of science responded enthusiastically.

More than 400 researchers had registered for the conference. About 300 research students and professors from the science stream presented research papers on a range of subjects.

The inauguration was held on the first day. Dr Anil Chitade was the chief guest and inaugurator. Dr Vasudev Gurnule, president of ACT, was the main speaker and delivered the keynote address. Dr R K Shukla was also present as a chief guest. In their addresses they spoke at length on the changing nature of science and technology, new opportunities in research, the influence of modern technology and the need for research that benefits society. They urged researchers not to stop at theoretical knowledge but to contribute to the development of society through new experiments, research and technology.

Dhananjay Gore, secretary of the Gadchandur Shikshan Prasarak Mandal, presided over the programme. In his presidential address he said that, along with academic quality, the college should take the lead in research as well. He also noted that such conferences let students and researchers present their work, exchange ideas with other researchers and understand new directions in research.

Dr Ramkrishna Y. Patle, the conference coordinator, explained the concept, objectives and purpose behind holding the conference. He said the main aims were to promote research in science and technology, give researchers a platform, share research from different disciplines with one another and strengthen a research culture. Dr Shailendra Dev, principal of the college, was the chief organiser and successfully handled the planning of the entire conference.

Dr Sandip Ghodile conducted the inauguration session and Prof. Chetan Wankhede proposed the vote of thanks. Five technical sessions were then held on the first day. In them, researchers presented findings, experiments, new concepts and research methods from their subjects. In every session, researchers had the chance to explain their work and receive guidance and suggestions from the experts present.

The remaining three technical sessions were held on the second day, making eight technical sessions in the two days. The research papers presented were mainly related to chemistry, physics, microbiology and mathematics. The presentations allowed an exchange of information on research across subjects, new methods, scientific approaches and advances in technology.

Another feature of the conference was the Best Researcher Award. Researchers who had done outstanding work in the four subjects of chemistry, physics, microbiology and mathematics were honoured with the awards. This encouraged the researchers and motivated them to do better work in future.

The closing session was held in an enthusiastic atmosphere on the second day. Dr Manohar Bandre proposed the vote of thanks at the end. He mentioned all the dignitaries, researchers, professors, students, chairs of the technical sessions, judges and members of the organising committee who contributed to the successful organisation of the conference.

With more than 400 registrations, the presentation of about 300 research papers and eight technical sessions, the two-day international conference at Mahatma Gandhi College of Science, Gadchandur, was a success. It has become an important milestone in the college's academic, research and scientific journey, and has given a new direction to the research culture in the area.
