The National Council of Educational Research and Training, or NCERT, has taken another step toward changing the syllabus and teaching method for Class 9 students this academic session. NCERT has begun releasing revised Class 9 books for the 2026-27 session. The new maths book is now in the market, while the new social science book will reach students soon.

The new books have been prepared according to the updated school syllabus. According to NCERT, this new version has been made keeping in mind the National Education Policy, or NEP 2020, and the National Curriculum Framework for School Education, or NCF-SE 2023.

Printing of the revised Class 9 maths book, "Ganit Manjari Part 2," has been completed and it has been available for sale since September 21, 2026. Students, parents, teachers and schools can buy it through authorised channels. NCERT has clarified that the book is being given to students strictly according to the updated syllabus for the new session.

After maths, the revised Class 9 social science book is now set to be released. Sales of "Understanding Society - India and Beyond Part 2" will begin from September 30, 2026. The new versions of both key subjects are thus becoming available to students on different dates.

NCERT has advised students, parents and schools to buy books only from authorised sellers. The maths book is currently available, while the social science book can be bought from September 30. Both books will be available at NCERT sale counters, on NCERT's official website and on the Amazon online platform.

These new Class 9 books have been prepared keeping in mind the changing needs of children. The new versions will help schools implement the revised syllabus effectively. NCERT has also said that the maths and social science books are being made available according to a fixed plan and a previously approved timetable.
