Bhavesh Chandrakant Gandhi, a trader at New Iron Market in the Itwari grain market in Nagpur district, has made serious allegations against three officials of the Goods and Services Tax (GST) department. He has submitted a written complaint at Sadar police station.
Gandhi alleges that the GST officials are conspiring to implicate him in false and fabricated cases. Besides the police station, he has also complained to the state's Chief Minister and the Nagpur Police Commissioner, and has demanded that an FIR be registered in the entire matter.
According to Gandhi's written complaint to the police, three GST officials, Prashant, Devendrakumar Markam and Kishan Yadav, came to his house unannounced on July 20, 2026.
The allegation is that the officials harassed his entire family mentally at the time. It also says they put undue pressure on him and forcibly took his signatures on blank papers and on pages meant for statements. Gandhi has expressed deep fear that the signatures on the blank papers could be misused to implicate him in a major false case.
In his complaint, Gandhi has said that the officials' action has brought his business to a complete halt. He claims the officials keep issuing threats and are trying to tarnish his reputation in society.
Saying his life is in danger, he has asked the police administration for a fair and transparent inquiry. He has also appealed for strict legal action against the officials concerned under the appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
Sources said the officials named in the complaint have long enjoyed the patronage of senior officers. Complaints had been made against them several times earlier, but the officials deliberately suppressed the matter, it was said.
The complainants have since approached various investigating agencies, including the police and the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI). It is also being said that not only the Itwari trader but several others have filed complaints at Sadar police station, yet the police are sitting idle.
