Nagpur trader Bhavesh Chandrakant Gandhi has filed a complaint at Sadar police station against three officials of the GST department. Gandhi alleges that the officials' purported actions affected his business, harassed his mother and led to him being made to sign blank papers.
The officials named in the complaint are Prashant, Devendrakumar Markam and Kishan Yadav. Gandhi runs his business at New Iron Market in the Itwari grain market. According to him, some GST department officials came to his home on July 20, 2026.
Gandhi says his family was harassed during the visit and that his mother suffered mental and physical distress. He also claims the officials pressured him into signing blank papers and statements.
The trader fears the papers and statements could later be used to implicate him in false cases. He has also expressed apprehension about a threat to his life. He has therefore asked the police to register an FIR and take strict action.
Gandhi has also accused the officials of issuing threats and trying to damage his reputation. He says the complaint has also been sent to the Chief Minister and the Police Commissioner. He has asked Sadar police to conduct an impartial investigation and take action under the appropriate sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.
The allegations in the complaint have not been independently verified. The GST officials concerned have not given their side, and there has been no official response from the police. For now, these are allegations and claims made in Gandhi's complaint. What the police investigation finds and what action follows remain to be seen.
