Office-bearers of the Maharashtra Navnirman Sena (MNS) sat down on the Wani-Warora bypass road in Warora on Friday, October 16, 2026, halting traffic for some time in the Ganpati temple area. According to the police, the office-bearers said they were protesting against the potholes on the road. A hyva truck loaded with soil had also overturned on the same route.

Warora police have registered a case under the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita against three MNS office-bearers, including the party's city president, for holding an agitation without permission and obstructing traffic. The case relates to the Ganpati temple premises, which fall under the Warora police station limits, and the incident took place in the morning.

According to information from the police, Sub-Inspector Manisha Talewar of Warora police station was on day duty with her team on the morning of October 16. A secret informant then told them that a hyva truck carrying soil (number MH 29 BE 9086) had overturned near the Ganpati temple on the Wani-Warora bypass road. It was also reported that MNS office-bearers were sitting on the road and staging a dharna against the poor condition of the road and its potholes. Traffic had come to a complete halt on both sides of the road, long queues of vehicles had formed and ordinary commuters were facing considerable hardship.

Warora police reached the spot immediately after receiving the information. They found the truck overturned at the roadside and MNS office-bearers sitting on the main asphalt road nearby, shouting slogans loudly. On questioning, they gave their names as Anand Wamanrao Gedam (35, Mokashe Layout, Warora, MNS city president), Prashant Janardhan Zunzare (42, Milan Chowk, Warora, MNS taluka president) and Pratik Prakash Mule (22, Bawane Layout, Warora, MNS city vice-president).

The office-bearers told the police that accidents were occurring continuously on this road because of large potholes, yet the department concerned was not paying attention. They said they held the agitation to draw the administration's attention.

The police explained to them that the agitation was unlawful and was causing needless trouble to the public and motorists, and requested them to clear the road. As the office-bearers were not willing to listen, the police used their legal authority and, with the help of their staff, removed the agitators from the road and got traffic moving again. The supervisor of the hyva truck was also instructed to remove the vehicle from the spot.

On the complaint of Sub-Inspector Manisha Talewar, a case has been registered at Warora police station against the three office-bearers for blocking a public road without permission and obstructing traffic. The case is under Section 126(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023. Police Havaldar Naresh Kawaduji Nananware is conducting further investigation.
