A session for women was held in Nagpur on World Mental Health Day. Second Beginning organised it together with Women to Women Connect. The session was titled "Finding Her Voice".
It was led by Dr Rozina Rana, a psychologist, life coach and TEDx speaker. The session aimed to help women express their feelings with confidence, speak about hurt, and improve relationships through honest and respectful conversation.
Dr Rana said women often suppress their feelings to keep peace in the family, which sometimes leaves emotional troubles unresolved. She stressed that when hurt, one should talk about it at the right time, rather than react instantly or stay silent.
She explained that speaking up is not the same as quarrelling. It is about understanding one's self-respect, well-being and needs. The women taking part were also told to put their own care first, ask for support when needed, and make time for themselves while managing household responsibilities.
The women took part with enthusiasm and spoke openly. The atmosphere allowed them to share their experiences and think about how to deal better with emotional difficulties.
The programme was opened by Vidhi Jha, a mentor at Second Beginning, and conducted by Dr Swati Giri. Core committee members Deepti Wakde, Dr Harsha Jharia, Vandana Vyas, Suruchi and Bhavna Jain contributed to making the event a success.
The programme ended with a strong message that every woman should be heard, valued and given emotional support, not only on World Mental Health Day but every day.
