Nagpur: Painter held for molesting 13-year-old girl after cornering her in bathroom
A 21-year-old painter was arrested under the Pocso Act and for molestation after he allegedly entered a bathroom where a 13-year-old girl was and molested her in Nagpur's Mankapur area.
A 13-year-old girl was confined in a bathroom and molested in an incident under Mankapur police station limits in Nagpur.
The girl's father works as a watchman in a housing society and has lived in the guard room for three years. The owner of a bungalow in the society compound has put it up for sale, and painting work is under way in it.
On October 17, the girl went to the house with her younger brother to look after the dog there. She went into the bathroom and was about to close the door when Afsar Ali Mohd Sabir Siddiqui, 21, who was doing the painting work, entered the bathroom. Seeing him, the girl tried to close the door, but Siddiqui forced it open and went in.
He began molesting the girl and kept asking her for her mobile number and Instagram ID. The girl raised an alarm and called her brother for help. Seeing this, Siddiqui fled.
Mankapur police have arrested Siddiqui and registered a case under the Pocso Act and for molestation.
