Nagpur: A man has been cheated of Rs 66 lakh by accused who passed off land owned by someone else as their own, using forged documents. Nandanvan police have registered a case against Ganesh Dhande, Hirasingh Bhagwan Singh Thakur of Sangam Talkies, Ganesh Nagar, and Nana Nikose of Yenwa, Katol.
The complainant, Shibiraj Thakre, wanted to buy land for farming. During this time he met the accused. They showed him 3.49 hectares of land at Survey No. 113 in the Bharatwada, Katol Road area. They said the land belonged to Anant Haribhau Kukde. The deal was fixed at Rs 1.31 crore.
Dhande, with the help of Hirasingh and Nikose, prepared a fake Aadhaar card and PAN card in the name of Anant Kukde. On the basis of these documents and a bank account, the sale of the land was agreed. Thakre paid the accused Rs 66 lakh in cash and by cheque.
Thakre later realised he had been cheated and filed a complaint at Nandanvan police station. Police have registered a case of fraud.
