Nagpur advocate duped of Rs 26,000 with hotel booking discount promise; case against company officials

Nagpur: An advocate was cheated of Rs 26,000 on the promise of cheap hotel stays and heavy discounts on bookings. On a court's direction, Nandanvan police have registered a case against the managing director of The Park Priyveera Hospitality Private Limited, additional director Rahul Kumar Gupta, Mohd Ali Ansari and relationship manager Madhuri Patel.

The complainant, Advocate Pradeep Jaiswal, received a phone call from the company. He was told that with the company's membership, bookings could be made at very low rates in major hotels across the country. To explain the company's policy, he was called with his family to the Regenta hotel at Jagnade Chowk. There, the accused listed the benefits of a one-year membership and assured him of heavy concessions at big hotels.

Won over by their words, Jaiswal paid Rs 26,000 for the membership in July 2022. After taking the membership, when Jaiswal contacted the accused to book hotels in Mussoorie and Dehradun, they began to stall. Despite repeated attempts to contact them, the promise to provide hotels was not fulfilled. This made him suspicious and he began looking into the matter.

Jaiswal allegedly found that others had also been cheated in the company's name. He then complained to the police, but when no action was taken, he approached the court. On the court's direction, Nandanvan police have finally registered a case of cheating against the accused and begun an investigation.
