The Steel and Hardware Chamber of Vidarbha will honour Mohan Bindraban Agrawal at its annual Diwali family get-together in Nagpur on November 15.

The Steel and Hardware Chamber of Vidarbha (SHCV), the apex body of iron, steel and hardware traders in Vidarbha, will this year honour Mohan Bindraban Agrawal with the "Steel Chamber Metafence Lifetime Achievement Award". Agrawal, who is associated with Rajesh Steel Industries, will be recognised for his long and notable contribution to trade, industry and society. The announcement was made by chamber president Sanjay K. Agrawal.

The award ceremony will be part of the chamber's annual Diwali family get-together. The event will be held on Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 7 pm at Naivedyam Astoria, Bharat Nagar Chowk, Kalamna Market Road, Nagpur 440008. It is being hosted with the support of Sanvijay Rolling and Engineering Limited, Tirupati Balaji Steel and JSK Corporation Private Limited.

Mohan Agrawal is a former vice-president of the chamber. He took the family's steel trading business into manufacturing. His units are in Nagpur, Bhilai and Hyderabad and cover the entire chain from sponge iron to finished rolled products. From 1998 he was elected president of the Vidarbha Industries Association for ten consecutive terms, leading the region's industry for a decade. In 2014 he co-founded the Nagpur Cancer Hospital and Research Institute, where one in every five patients, those below the poverty line, is treated at government-approved rates.

In keeping with its long-standing tradition, the chamber will also honour couples from the community who have completed 25 years (silver) or 50 years (golden) of marriage. Members who have turned 65 and their family members, as well as those who have achieved distinction in any field, will also be felicitated. Secretary Mukul Agrawal said promising children of members will be given silver medals and certificates of appreciation for their academic achievements.

Joint secretary Manish Jejani said the chamber is also organising a "Deep Utsav Housie" on the occasion. The housie prizes are sponsored by SDS Udyog.

Senior vice-president Manoj Khemani, vice-president Dinesh Agrawal and treasurer Suryakant Agrawal have invited all members and their families to attend, to further strengthen the spirit of unity and fellowship. They have asked members to send the names and details of individuals, couples and children deserving of honour to the chamber office, or by email to steelchamberngp@gmail.com, by 5 pm on October 31, 2026, so the chamber can send them invitations.

The entire executive committee, particularly the chamber's entertainment and sports sub-committee, is making preparations for the event with great enthusiasm.
