The theft was from a cupboard, from which Rs 20,000 in cash and a gold mangalsutra worth Rs 50,000 went missing. The incident came to light on September 28, 2026.
According to the information given to the police, Manjusha Sandeep Kambde (42), who lives in Renuka Gold City, Chinora, works in the health department at Bhatada. On September 28, 2026, she left as usual at about 11:30 am for Kosarsar for an office meeting. Her husband was at the farm, and their two daughters had left for school at about 8 am. The house was therefore locked during the day.
At about 4:30 pm, the daughters returned from school and found the main door open. Suspicious, they called their mother from the mobile phone of neighbour Vaishali Padwe and told her the lock of the house was broken.
On receiving the news, Kambde left Kosarsar for home immediately. Inside, she found the lock of the iron cupboard in the bedroom broken and the clothes kept in it strewn about. A thorough search showed that Rs 20,000 in cash and a used gold mangalsutra weighing 6 grams, valued at Rs 50,000, were missing. In all, goods worth Rs 70,000 were stolen.
Kambde then went to Warora police station and filed a complaint against unknown persons. On her oral report, Warora police registered a case against the unidentified accused under Sections 331(3) and 305(a) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS), 2023.
