MIA, MIDC officials review roads, sewerage and land issues in Hingna
MIDC Industries Association and MIDC officials met in Hingna to review infrastructure fixes agreed earlier with the MIDC CEO
A review meeting was held at the MIA building in Hingna, Nagpur, to act on decisions taken at a recent meeting with Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation (MIDC) CEO Dipendra Singh Kushwaha. Senior officials of MIDC and the MIDC Industries Association (MIA) attended.
The meeting aimed to quickly resolve infrastructure and industrial development problems in the Hingna industrial area. MIDC was represented by Superintending Engineer V. V. Rathod, Executive Engineer S. S. Patil, Deputy Engineer S. C. Gaur, Deputy Engineer N. S. Nikhare and Junior Engineer P. Kasare. MIA was represented by president P. Mohan, vice president Ganesh Jaiswal and vice president Ajay Agrawal.
The meeting raised the issue of waterlogging during the rains, which disrupts both factory operations and vehicle movement in the area. MIA said that instead of repeated temporary repairs, there should be a permanent, time-bound arrangement for internal roads, drainage and street lighting.
It also called for a continuous anti-encroachment drive in coordination with the police and a separate parking area for trucks. Further demands included building a complete sewerage system for the Hingna area and starting an ESIC hospital and medical facility. It was also said that vacant or closed plots should be dealt with as per rules to make additional land available for industrial expansion.
The meeting also raised a demand for clear and uniform guidelines on local body tax on MIDC properties and GST applicable on land transfer and leasing.
P. Mohan said a responsible officer should be designated for each of these issues, with a fixed timeline and periodic review, and that a strong MIA-MIDC monitoring system should be set up on these lines. He assured full cooperation to the Maharashtra Industrial Development Corporation and expressed hope that this follow-up mechanism would soon bring about direct and visible improvement in the Hingna MIDC area.
