Mahindra opens bookings for CNG XUV 3XO ZNG from Rs 9.99 lakh, deliveries begin

Mahindra and Mahindra has started bookings across India for the ZNG, the CNG version of its popular compact SUV XUV 3XO. Customer deliveries of the SUV have also begun. The booking amount is Rs 21,000.

Customers can book at a Mahindra dealership or through the company's online portal. Test drives began on October 15. The starting ex-showroom price of the model is Rs 9.99 lakh.

The XUV 3XO ZNG has a 1,197 cc, 1.2-litre, three-cylinder mStallion TCMPFi turbo petrol engine. In CNG mode, the engine produces 111 hp at 5,000 rpm and 200 Nm of torque between 1,500 and 3,500 rpm. A 6-speed manual gearbox is standard.

According to the company's claim, the SUV returns a mileage of 24.7 km/kg in CNG mode. It takes 4.9 seconds to go from 0 to 60 kmph and 11.8 seconds to reach 100 kmph.

Two CNG cylinders are fitted under the boot. This keeps the boot floor flat and gives 270 litres of luggage space, against 364 litres in the petrol and diesel versions. The vehicle is 3,990 mm long and has a wheelbase of 2,600 mm.

Mahindra has made special changes to the turbocharger and ECU for this model. The CNG injection system works at 10 bar pressure. If a gas leak occurs, the engine can switch to petrol mode automatically. The vehicle can also keep running on petrol when the CNG runs out. An NGV fast-filling valve is provided for quicker CNG refuelling.

On safety, all four variants get six airbags, electronic stability control, ISOFIX child seat mounts, three-point seatbelts for every passenger and rear parking sensors. The petrol and diesel XUV 3XO earlier received a 5-star rating in the Bharat NCAP crash test for both adult and child safety.

The prices are: MX Edge Rs 9.99 lakh, RevX Edge (O) Rs 10.79 lakh, AX5 Rs 11.19 lakh and the top RevX A Rs 12.27 lakh. Depending on the variant, features include a 10.25-inch touchscreen, skyroof, dual screens, wireless Android Auto, Apple CarPlay, dual-zone climate control and a premium audio system. It could be a new option for those looking for a CNG SUV with a turbo engine, good safety and new features.
