The pre-training entrance examination of Mahajyoti and Vanarti is to run for three days and is being held at 64 centres. On the first day, technical problems at two centres, one in Pune and one in Nanded, forced the exam there to be cancelled. Both institutions have given this information.

A total of 90,600 students have applied for the examination. About 30,000 students were taking the test on the first day when the problems arose at the Sunrise Ambegaon centre in Pune and the Marathwada Online centre in Nanded. The selection test is for the training that the institutions provide for UPSC, MPSC and police recruitment.

Milind Naringe, managing director of Mahajyoti, and Prashant Wavge, managing director of Vanarti, jointly held a press conference and explained the matter. According to them, the new date and time will be communicated to students soon.

The causes were also explained. At the Pune centre, candidates were unable to log in. At the Nanded centre, a power cut caused the system to trip. For these reasons the exam will be held again at both centres.

The fresh exam will be only for students whose paper was disrupted at these centres. There were about 300 students at these centres, and all of them will sit the exam again. New centres are being identified and students will be informed soon. No examination fee will be charged for the repeat exam.

The institutions said the exam had been scheduled at 64 centres in 32 cities. At all the other centres it was completed without any disruption. Students whose paper was cancelled at these two centres will be told the next date and centre today itself, according to their convenience. They will not be made to face any travel difficulty.

All the remaining centres had been inspected beforehand, yet the technical problem occurred. The institutions said full care would be taken of this in future.

A report has been sought in the matter. It will make clear what technical fault actually occurred. It was also said that action would be taken against anyone found responsible.
