The budget 5G phone, launched at Rs 15,999, carries a Rs 14,999 listed price and further discounts of up to Rs 2,500 in all.

Shoppers planning to buy a new 5G smartphone this Diwali can look at the Lava Virat V1 Pro 5G, which has 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, a 6000mAh battery and a 50MP camera. Its price has been cut, and a bank offer can bring the effective price down further.

The phone was launched in India at Rs 15,999. Discounts of up to Rs 2,500 in total are now being offered. The listed price on Flipkart is Rs 14,999, there is a flat discount of Rs 1,000 and an SBI credit card discount of Rs 1,500. The effective price after these is stated as Rs 13,499.

Eligible SBI credit card holders who avail of both discounts can thus buy the phone for Rs 13,499. An offer of Rs 1,000 is also claimed to be available to SBI customers without a credit card. Buyers should check the actual price, eligibility and the terms of the offers before purchase.

The phone has a 6.74-inch HD+ LCD screen with a resolution of 720 x 1600 pixels, a 120Hz refresh rate and 550 nits of brightness. These features can make scrolling, social media use and video viewing smoother. A 120Hz refresh rate is a notable feature in a budget smartphone.

It runs Android 16. The company says it has no unnecessary third-party apps, so users may get a cleaner experience with fewer advertisements.

The processor is an octa-core Unisoc T8200 with a maximum clock speed of up to 2.6GHz. It has 6GB of physical RAM and 128GB of internal storage. Expandable RAM technology can add 6GB of virtual RAM, taking the total to 12GB. A memory card of up to 1TB can also be fitted.

The 6000mAh battery should give long backup in normal use. Charging support is 18W fast charging. At the back are a 50MP main camera and AI features, while an 8MP front camera handles selfies and video calls. The phone has an IP64 rating for protection against dust and water splashes. It also offers Wi-Fi 5, Bluetooth 5.4 and OTG connectivity.

The company has promised one OS upgrade and two years of security updates. If the phone is available at the effective price of Rs 13,499 in the Diwali offer, it could be an option worth considering for buyers looking for a 5G phone on a budget. The final price, bank offer and availability should be confirmed with the sale platform.
