Comedian Kushal Badrike is deeply angry at the moment. Known in homes across Maharashtra through Chala Hawa Yeu Dya, he is usually seen having fun. This time, though, he posted a video that has become the talk of social media. In it he is not laughing but visibly angry. Naming Pune's well-known influencer Atharva Sudame, he has publicly taken him to task.

A few days ago, Sudame invited many Marathi artistes to his home. "There is a kande pohe event at the Sudames' place, everyone come over," he had told them all. The name makes the event sound homely and warm, so Badrike and many other artistes went to his house with affection. Everyone expected a meeting, a chat and plates of piping hot kande pohe.

What happened there was something else. Nobody got any kande pohe. It is being said that inviting the artistes and then doing this amounted to insulting them.

In the video, Badrike stated his position plainly. He said, "Look, in reels we pull each other's leg and joke around, and I can understand that. That is part of content. But inviting guests home and disrespecting them like this is something I did not accept at all. In all these years I have never had such an experience."

He went on, "I have a public objection to this. What the other artistes will say about it is for them to know, but this hurt me. It is wrong to behave like this after inviting people home." As soon as Badrike's video appeared, there was a stir on social media. People began commenting, and many wondered what exactly had happened.

Some people also feel this could be a promotional stunt for a new project. These days such quarrel videos are made to promote films or web series, and there is talk of whether this too might be a prank of that kind. However, until Sudame himself speaks on the matter, the truth will not be known. Sudame has not yet responded.

One thing is certain: it is said that hurting Maharashtra's beloved Kushal is like hurting all viewers. People are therefore standing with Kushal. What exactly happened to the kande pohe at the Sudames' house is expected to come out soon.
