Virat Kohli's catch at second slip off Anshul Kamboj dismissed Nathan Smith and made him the oldest player to take a catch in international cricket in New Zealand.

The five-match ODI series between India and New Zealand began in Auckland today. The first match is under way and India appear to have a firm grip on it. The most talked-about moment so far is a catch by Virat Kohli, a video of which has gone viral.

Captain Shubman Gill won the toss and chose to bowl first. The Indian bowlers kept to an accurate line and New Zealand were bowled out for 185. India now need 186 runs to win.

The biggest talking point of the innings, however, was not the bowling but Kohli's fielding. Fast bowler Anshul Kamboj was bowling the 29th over. On the third ball of the over, New Zealand batter Nathan Smith tried to play a good shot, but the ball took the edge of his bat and went towards second slip.

Former captain Virat Kohli was standing there. He dived to his right and caught the ball in the air. The catch was so difficult that the players and spectators at the ground were stunned.

The third umpire checked the replay to see whether the catch was clean. The replay showed that the catch was complete. Kohli's catch off Anshul Kamboj has become the highlight of the match.

With this catch Kohli also set a record. He broke a record held by former India captain Mahendra Singh Dhoni. Kohli is now the oldest player to take a catch in international cricket in New Zealand. He was 37 years and 364 days old when he took the catch. The record was previously Dhoni's.

The match is still going on and India need 186 runs. Fans continue to praise Kohli's catch on social media.
