Anil Sole and Girish Vyas have alleged that rules and traditions were not followed in the BJP while choosing its candidate for the Legislative Council election. BJP candidate Sudhakar Kohale has termed the allegation wrong.

Kohale claimed that his candidature was decided in line with party rules and tradition, and that it was announced from Delhi. He also said that Anil Sole is his mentor and should bless him.

Kohale said he has been working for the past one year to wipe out the sting of the 2020 election defeat. For this, he travelled across all 32 tehsils of the Nagpur division and carried out voter registration. According to him, Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis had directed that voter registration be done by going to the booth level. Kohale said he held the responsibility of voter registration head for this election, so it was necessary to reach out to voters and register them, and he did that work.

Kohale expressed confidence that no flags of revolt within the party are visible in this election, and that if there is any misunderstanding, it will be cleared up.

He said Anil Sole is a senior leader of the party. The issue over the candidature is at the level of senior leaders, and they will find a solution. Kohale also made it clear that he has no information about the issue of high-handedness that Sole has raised. According to Kohale, he is currently focused on campaigning, and the party has also asked him to campaign. He said he has the party's campaign leaflet in hand and is reaching out to voters with it.

Kohale said the defeat in 2020 had stung all of them deeply. The sting of that defeat will not go away without a win in this election, so everyone is working with full strength to win it.

Kohale said he has been working in the BJP for the past 35 years and has handled responsibilities in various posts. He said it is a BJP tradition that once a decision is made, every worker, however many storms may come, should accept it and stand with the party.

Speaking of Anil Sole, Kohale said he is his mentor and has taught him mathematics and politics. He therefore hopes that Sole will bless his disciple. Amid the discussion over the candidature, Kohale expressed respect for Sole and said that, in keeping with the party's decision, his focus is on winning the election.
