KL Rahul fails twice in Ranji Trophy, scoring 4 and 1, ahead of New Zealand tour

The Indian cricket team will soon tour New Zealand, where a Test series will be played between India and New Zealand as part of the World Test Championship. The series is therefore seen as very important for India. Just ahead of it, however, the poor form of experienced batter KL Rahul has become a worry for the team.

The Indian squad for the series is expected to be announced soon. Ranji Trophy matches are currently being played as part of domestic cricket in the country. Rahul took the field in the tournament to get practice and find form before the New Zealand tour, but he failed with the bat. He did not score in either innings.

In Elite Group B of the Ranji Trophy, Karnataka are playing Andhra. When Karnataka batted first, Rahul opened the innings, but was dismissed for just 4 runs. After the failure in the first innings, the story was the same in the second. He played 20 balls for a mere 1 run before returning to the pavilion.

Rahul is considered a very important player in the Indian Test team. Scoring runs in the middle order, he has pulled India out of difficult situations several times. That is why his poor form ahead of the New Zealand tour is being seen as a cause for concern.

With the squad for the upcoming Test series against New Zealand about to be announced, the selectors may have to think about whether to retain Rahul, who is struggling for form. It remains to be seen whether he will be given a chance on the coming tour. Rahul will have to prove his form in the Ranji Trophy matches. Only then can he make a place in the Indian team against New Zealand.
