Kawasaki is preparing a new option for sports bike enthusiasts. The street-naked Kawasaki Z300 is likely to be launched in India on October 20, 2026. Ahead of the launch, the company has shared photographs of the bike on its official social media accounts.

Bookings are expected to open at Kawasaki dealerships from October 19. The likely ex-showroom price of the bike could be around Rs 3 lakh. The final price, features and official booking details will become clear only at the time of the launch.

On design, the Z300 is based on the Ninja 300 and uses the company's well-known "Sugomi" design language. Its styling carries a hint of the larger Kawasaki Z900. Triple-element LED headlights, an eye-catching fuel tank and a split-seat setup give the bike a sporty look. It may come in two colours, black and green. However, the turn indicators have halogen bulbs instead of LEDs.

The bike is expected to get a TFT instrument cluster, which could be a big change from the semi-digital display of the Ninja 300. Connectivity features such as turn-by-turn navigation are also likely. At the front it has telescopic suspension instead of USD forks, which may help keep the price under control. The wide handlebar and upright seating position could be useful for city riding as well as long rides.

On the engine, the Z300 is expected to get the Ninja 300's 296cc, liquid-cooled, parallel-twin petrol engine. That engine produces 38.4 bhp of power and 26.1 Nm of torque, and the Z300 could get the same figures. Disc brakes on both wheels and dual-channel ABS are likely. The 17-inch alloy wheels will help the bike's sporty look and its stability on the road.

On competition, the Kawasaki Z300 is likely to be imported into India through the CBU route, so the final price will matter. It could compete with the Aprilia Tuono 457, the KTM 390 Duke and the TVS Apache RTR 310. The ex-showroom price of the Ninja 300 is about Rs 3.34 lakh, so the Z300's likely price of Rs 3 lakh could draw attention.

The final launch date will depend on the company's announcement, and the actual price of the bike will be revealed at the time of the launch.
