BMW Motorrad has released the first teaser of its naked streetfighter F 450 R, built on the 420cc platform, ahead of its October 1 global debut.
BMW Motorrad has released the first teaser of its upcoming naked streetfighter bike, the F 450 R. With this new bike, the company will take its 420cc engine platform further. The first bike built on this platform was the F 450 GS, and the F 450 R will now be the second model on this platform. The bike's official global debut is set for October 1, 2026.
The F 450 R will be manufactured in India under TVS's production project, and is likely to be exported from here to various countries in Europe. In the teaser, the bike's look appears quite aggressive and sporty. A muscular fuel tank, sharp tank extensions and a raised rear profile give it a strong streetfighter look. The teaser also shows a glimpse of the bike's underbelly exhaust.
Some changes are likely in the underpinnings of the new F 450 R. The bike could get 17-inch alloy wheels and road-biased tyres at the front and rear. Disc brakes are expected on both wheels. In terms of features, like the F 450 GS, it could get a 6.5-inch TFT display and a multicontroller. Display modes such as Pure Ride Screen and Sport Screen are also expected.
On electronics, it could get riding modes such as Rain, Road, Enduro and Enduro Pro. It is also expected to feature wheelie control, rear-wheel ABS, ABS Pro, Dynamic Brake Control, Dynamic Traction Control and Engine Drag Torque Control. The top variant could also get features such as Easy Ride Clutch and Shift Assistant Pro.
For the powertrain, the same 420cc twin-cylinder engine as the F 450 GS is likely to be used. This engine can generate 47 bhp power at 8750 rpm and 43 Nm torque at 6750 rpm. It will come with a 6-speed gearbox. The bike's likely ex-showroom price in India could be between Rs 4.50 lakh and Rs 5 lakh. In the Indian market, it will compete directly with bikes such as the Aprilia Tuono 457 and the KTM 390 Duke R.
