Jio has launched a festive JioHome offer giving customers 5 extra months of internet and entertainment service free with a 10-month recharge.
Reliance Jio has rolled out a festive offer for JioHome subscribers. A customer who pays for a 10-month recharge will get 5 extra months of service at no cost, which means 15 months of connectivity for the price of 10. The company announced the scheme on Vasubaras, the first day of Diwali, and shared the details from its X account.
Jio says it designed the offer because home internet use goes up during the festive days. The idea is that television shows, films and broadband should keep running in the home without a break, and that families should get good entertainment during the season without a big jump in spending. For households that are online every day, the 10-month recharge works out to a saving equal to 5 months of charges.
The benefit does not come automatically. The customer has to claim it, and no form or shop visit is needed. The customer must give a missed call to 8219582195 from the registered number, which is the number on which JioHome is running. Jio then sends a message to that number, and by following the steps in it the customer can start the 5 free months. Jio's post on 4 November, which wrote the number as 82195 82195, said the festival had been upgraded and so had the entertainment, and urged customers to take 5 months of JioHome free this festive season.
Subscribers should confirm that the number they call from is the one linked to JioHome. A missed call from any other number will not get the offer.
Those who would rather not take a large 10-month recharge have a smaller option. Under a 2-month plan, the customer gets 1 month free. The Rs 2,122 plan, for instance, offers speeds of up to 100 Mbps. Jio's website and the MyJio app carry a "Claim Now" button for claiming the offer.
For anyone considering a new connection or an upgrade of home internet or Wi-Fi this Diwali, the offer could be worth a look.
