Itel today announced the launch of its new smartphone, the Itel City 300 5G. Itel, one of the leading technology brands in India, has designed the phone with young and aspirational customers in mind. It is priced at Rs 14,999.
The phone aims to offer 5G connectivity, a smooth display, an all-day battery and software free of unnecessary apps at an affordable price. The company says it can be a good option for those looking for a feature-rich phone that fits a budget.
The phone has a 6.67-inch HD+ 120 Hz punch-hole display and a 2.5D glass design. The 120 Hz refresh rate makes scrolling smoother and on-screen movement easier to follow, making it easier to watch videos, scroll social media or play light games. Its body is only 8.4 mm thick, giving the phone a sleek and premium look. For first-time upgraders from basic phones, it offers a premium-phone viewing experience at an affordable price.
The phone is powered by a T8200 octa-core 6 nm 5G processor, which delivers reliable performance for everyday tasks. For better connectivity, it supports 10 5G bands with NRCA technology. The 4 GB RAM variant is built for everyday tasks such as using apps, making video calls and streaming content. It also has the Ultralink free calling feature.
A 5,000 mAh battery is provided with daily use in mind, and is useful for browsing, video streaming, calling and messaging. The phone supports Type-C charging and a 10 W charger comes in the box. For photography, it has a 13 MP autofocus rear camera and an 8 MP front camera for selfies and video calls.
Running on Android 16 Go Edition, the phone is designed to offer light and smooth use. It has a side-mounted fingerprint sensor for quick unlocking, as well as face unlock. It is available in three colours: Dark Ruby, Mist Beige and Bold Indigo.
Speaking about the launch, Arijeet Talapatra, CEO of Itel India, said: "Demand for 5G connectivity is growing rapidly in tier 3 to tier 5 cities. However, many young customers still find 5G out of reach, because of limited budgets or the fear that they will have to compromise on design and screen quality in a low-priced phone."
Talapatra added: "With the Itel City 300 5G, we are trying to remove this very problem. In this phone we have provided a premium 120 Hz punch-hole display, truly fast 5G and a long-lasting battery. In look and in use, this phone feels more premium than its price segment. The aim is for customers to get the benefit of 5G without any compromise."
